Areas of Practice
Health care compliance, billing investigations and audits, provider
reimbursement, health care regulation, computer systems and computer services
contracting, with emphasis on Medicare reimbursement of hospital providers,
physician recruitment issues and litigation involving health care fraud, qui
tam defense, and contracting issues. Experience in negotiation and preparation
of numerous types of computer contracts.
Representative Experience

Represent numerous hospitals in self audits and reporting overpayments to the
government.

Review and negotiate managed care agreements and represent hospitals in audits
under those agreements.

Advise hospitals in ongoing compliance issues.

Represent health care providers in Medicare reimbursement appeals and
reopenings.

Represented numerous hospitals in Department of Justice investigations and Qui
Tam defense.

Partner in Health Care Department of the law firm of Bricker and Eckler which
serves as counsel to health care entities throughout the country as well as
many health care trade associations. The firm represents a wide variety of
health care entities including hospitals and their medical staffs, the long
term care industry, home health agencies, provider-sponsored health insurance
programs, health maintenance organizations, preferred provider organizations,
physician hospital organizations, as well as individual healthcare
professionals and group practices.
