Certificate of Need Application for Long-Term Care Bed Relocations in Ohio
May 2010
The Ohio Department of Health has determined that only one method of bed
relocation may be filed per Certificate of Need application. Possible methods
of bed relocations include intra-county, contiguous-county, and inter-county
bed relocations pursuant to the bed need formula. A facility is not prohibited
from obtaining long-term care beds through more than one method if approval for
each method of long-term care bed relocation is requested under a separate
Certificate of Need application. Beds being relocated from a contiguous county
may only be relocated to an existing health care facility and no more than 30
long-term care beds will be approved for each existing health care facility
under this method. Certificate of Need applications for intra-county and
contiguous-county bed relocations may be filed at any time. Certificate of Need
applications for inter-county bed relocations pursuant to the bed need formula
may be filed July 1 through July 30, 2010.
