Timely Filing Limitations for Medicare Have Changed!

As part of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) signed into law on March 23, 2010 the time period for filing claims timely has changed.
For services rendered on or after January 1, 2010 the claim must be filed within one (1) calendar year after the date of service. Claims with a date of service from October 1 through December 31, 2009 must also be submitted by December 31, 2010. Claims with a date of service prior to October 1, 2009 would follow the timely filing limitations prior to
PPACA.
