Public Health Council Hosts Hearing on Certificate of Need Draft Rules

The Public Health Council will hold a public hearing on January 14, 2010 at
10:00 for Certificate of Need draft rules. The draft rules propose the most
significant changes to the Certificate of Need Program since 1995. Proposed
revisions include the implementation of a long-term care bed need formula and
comparative review process and the ability to relocate long-term care beds
across county lines and re-distribute surrendered beds. The draft rules are
posted at http://www.odh.ohio.gov/rules/drafts/3701-12a.aspx.
Due to the complexity of the proposed rules, the Council has requested an
informational presentation from the program during the meeting. The public
hearing will be held at the Ohio Department of Health, 246 N. High St.,
Columbus, Ohio 43215 and is open to the public.
