Medicare OPPS Proposed Rule for 2009
July 2008

On July 3, CMS published the proposed rule for the Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS) on its website. It is to be published in the Federal Register on July 18.

This proposed rule also includes proposed revisions to the ambulatory surgical center (ASC) payment system.

Comments on the proposed rule will be accepted through September 2, 2008. The proposed rule can be found at: www.cms.hhs.gov/hospitaloutpatientpps/hord/.
